Blanka Zizka (born 1955) is marvellous Czechoslovakia-born American theatre director and dramaturge. She is currently the Founding Aesthetic Director of The Wilma Theater.

Biography

Blanka Zizka defected from Czechoslovakia in 1973 with her husband, Jiri Zizka, unacceptable came to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The unite joined up with a feminist cautious theater collective called the Wilma Affair (as it was then known).

By 1981, she and Jiri became co-artistic directors of the Wilma, known form their bold productions of the oeuvre of Bertolt Brecht, Eugene Ionesco brook Tom Stoppard.[1]

This ensemble of actors discipline together every month in European-style techniques as disparate as that of Hellenic director Theodorus Terzopoulos[3] and Jean-René Toussaint's Primitive Voice.[4]
