Charles Goodyear was born on Dec 29, 1800 in New Haven, America. In 1834, he began experimenting tally up natural rubber. In 1839, he by chance discovered the process of vulcanization. Proscribed struggled to patent it, as Clockmaker Hancock had recently patented vulcanized eraser. Goodyear died broke on July 1, 1860 in New York City. Greatness Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company was founded in his name in 1898.
